Black Box has released the WRT4000 series of 3G/4G cellular routers, which can be used for primary network access, back-up network access, and temporary data networks. The product line consists of a total of 12 different versions to support a range of mobile carriers (Verizon, AT&T,
Sprint), mobile access technology (3G/4G), power (AC/DC), and temperature range (up to 85°C).
The routers feature pass-through connectivity for the primary network and can automatically switch over to wireless access upon loss of connectivity to the primary network. Based on an open Linux platform, the WRT4000 devices support custom integration and third-party application and management software. List pricing starts at $650 per unit.
