Nordic-Based BLE Module Developed by Murata


Murata Americas has released its Nordic-based BLE module.The latest WSM device consists of Nordic Semiconductors nRF52832 IC, a 32 MHz crystal for timing, and anon-board antenna.Additionally, it contains two pins for an off-board omni-directional antenna and a NFC antenna. The module provides a SerialPort Interface(SPI) and UART interface to Nordics nRF52832 M4 Co
rtex processor.

The WSM-BL241-ADA-008 module provides BLE connectivity between tablets, cell phones, cloud services, and other proprietary functions.Further, Nordic Semiconductor’s software developer’s kit enables developers to create and run edge device applications that can monitor and capture diagnostic information for preventive maintenance.These features can be combined in apps for both iOS and Android devices that run BT v4.2

With this functionality and small footprint, it is ideally suited for OEMs wanting to develop Internet of Things (IoT) devices.Target markets include Industrial IoT, energy,and home and office automation applications.Specific end products include asset tracking devices, medical insulin pumps, white goods, and other consumer goods that require connectivity.
